We believe we have an ethical duty to conduct our business in a manner which integrates social, environmental, ethical, consumer and human rights into our business strategy and operations.

Our CSR policies have been developed to reflect the values against which we hold ourselves accountable to as a company and an employee include:

Environmental policy – IS0 14001

We recognise we have a duty to protect the environment and minimise the negative effects of climate change for future generations.

Recycling raw materials and packaging

As we supply safety related products and services, all of our products must be produced from virgin material. To offset the effect this has, we provide a full recycling service on PPE purchased (except where it contains contamination.)

Packaging is made from 76% recycled material; all cardboard is baled, recycled & put back into circulation by accredited recycling providers. We are currently exploring ways to minimise the use of plastic and to reduce our energy consumption by 10% in 2020/21.

Using hybrid and electric technology

All warehouse vehicles are 100% electric and we promote the use & benefit of hybrid and electric technology in company vehicles.

C02 emissions

Our Business Development Managers travel throughout the UK & therefore contribute to C02 waste. To offset – where practical - public transport is used and journeys meticulously planned. Safeaid also plants trees with the Woodland Trust to store the C02 produced.

Community support nationally and internationally

We support several local, national and international charities and community schemes, particularly those that help vulnerable children and young people. These include the Children’s Society, The Red Cross and the Rapid Relief Team.

Support for future generations

We sponsor a Career Advantage programme designed to support young people on the verge of entering the workplace.

We are an associate sponsor of CETC established in 2017 by a group of civil engineering employers, academia and local authorities. Created to address the acute skills shortage, CETC has seen unprecedented levels of success & the delivery of a purpose built 2 acre mock construction site close to CEMAST campus in Hampshire.

Slavery and human trafficking

Safeaid has a zero tolerance to Modern day slavery and human trafficking and we expect the same from our suppliers.

As a manufacturer who works with overseas suppliers, it is critical that our policies are robust to withstand scrutiny and regular audits. We employ the services of a third party auditing company to manage overseas visit and inspections. Every factory is audited in advance to ensure they meet very high standards of safety and welfare for their workers.
